How to plant out your hanging basket

The following instructions are perfect for the Hanging Baskets as well as the Wall Baskets.

1. Place you hanging basket on a flat surface. Start by clicking out all of the planter gates, These should click out easily. At the bottom of the basket there is a small reservoir, sprinkle a couple of teaspoons of water retaining crystals or gel and reservoir with compost.

2.simply feed the plant through from the outside-in, so that the start of growth is on the outside of the planting hole. Repeat this for each of the planting holes on the bottom layer (4 in total).

3. Now using the gates, pleace the rounded curve around the plant and click back into place. The lattice work on the gates allows for the plant to breathe and protects from the wind. The first layer is now complete.

4. Simply place another layer of compost/soil to fill to the next layer, you can sprinkle more water retaining crystals again too. Then simply repeat steps 2 and 3 for the next 8 plants.

5. Fill the hanging basket with compost/soil and create a dome-like effect at the centre top. Doing this creates a great volume for the plants to grow and flourish.Plant 4 plants around the edges of the top, it is best to plant in between where the hooks will sit so as to ensure they do not catch on the chain. Place one last plant at the centre top. You basket is now ready to hang. After your basket is hung, water it lightly to start until active root growth is achieved.
